In two years of being created, Banijay México & US Hispanic produced two hubs of different formats: LOL and Temptation Island, both for Amazon Prime. Ivanna Rodríguez, director of Development of the company, explained that they have perfected processes and the technical team, which has become increasingly specialized. “With Temptation Island, we did it in four territories: Mexico, Argentina-Chile, and Brazil, which would be our second hub,” she emphasized.
She mentioned that they already have the right formula for the process to flow, in which the team has become very efficient, working with two very different hubs. “With LOL, we made a hub in a studio, and with Temptation Island, it’s a location. We have that know-how to work with quality, without errors, thanks to the knowledge that the team has of the programs,” she explained. Post-production was also done locally, in addition to working hand in hand with the company’s teams in each territory.
Rodríguez explained they made a huge effort to get the right feeling for each territory since Brazil is very different from Mexico, Argentina, and Chile. “As for the content, we made adaptations so that it is aligned to each culture, in addition to changes in the locations – in the art of interiors of the villas and spaces – so that Argentines could relate with their version, as well as Brazilians and Mexicans.”
She said that each territory had its own episodic and seasonal structure. Furthermore, what happens in each show is very different, with different dates, casting, and themed parties according to each country and culture. “It is a format globally proven; each country has its host and local talents, so they were very different.”
They also offer other programs from the Banijay catalog, large formats, and game shows, adaptable to each region and needs. In addition, they are developing their programs with talents.
