Beau Ferrari, Chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, opened Telemundo’s Upfront celebration, saying that the Hispanic opportunity is greater than ever, “and it’s transforming every aspect of our country, our society, economy, and culture. With 62 million Hispanics it is the fastest-growing demographic in the US. Latinos are the new trendsetters, from music to sports, leading growth in all major categories. The youngest segment of all demographic groups, more of us are being born in the US, we are more bilingual, and we are 200% fluent in the language and in culture. In short, we are the perfect audience for every company in the US to secure its future,” he said.
He highlighted that Telemundo is the leading producer of scripted content in Spanish in the US. “We connect your brand with this audience through content made for Hispanics, by Hispanics, and no one understands this audience better than us,” he said addressing the audience of agencies, clients, and media that gathered at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.
“Turn it up” was the theme of this year’s Upfront. Powered by Telemundo, every month NBCUniversal reaches nine out of 10 Latinos, more than any other media company on all platforms.
