BTF Media, founded by Ricardo Coeto and Francisco Cordero, announced two new agreements at NATPE: their partnership with Vince Gerardis, producer of the series Game of Thrones to co-produce six exclusive projects with Latino content, and the agreement with Endemol Shine Boomdog and Sony Music Spain to develop an original dramatic series based on the life of the Spanish musician Joaquín Sabina.
The series based on the life of Sabina will be produced and distributed by Endemol Shine Boomdog, BTF Media and Sony Music Spain jointly, who are additionally producing a documentary with the director and scriptwriter León de Aranoa (Barrio, Amador), and Reposado Producciones, that will be launched in 2020. They are also in conversations regarding the possibility of it joining the original series.
“BTF does not only sell stories for other, comments Albert Uría, co-founder of Garage Films, acquired by BTF Media, but they also support other producers or directors, such as Fernando León from Aranoa. “BTF is a great deal of quality, not only amount of production, but with very important quality levels. For example, in Sabina, we have ensured this. One of my goals together with my partners is to maintain that quality in production, regardless of the budget.”
Being the start of a “very good relationship” between Gerardis and BTF points out Coeto, Gerardis comments that BTF “is positioned to become a provider of luxury television projects for American and Hispanic communities.”
Regarding Sabina, Oriol Uría, CEO of BTF Media Spain, mentioned that “from the first day I started working with Sony Music Spain to create a project with Sabina, something changed in my life. That is the magic of Sabina”.
