La Flor más Bella (8×60’) and a series inspired by Mexican comedian, Michelle Rodríguez, both for Netflix; the third season of Cómo Sobrevivir Soltero for Amazon and Pantaya (2023); a half-hour, eight-episode comedy series based on a European format for ViX+ scheduled for 2023, and a group of films, are among the most recent projects undertaken by Campanario Entertainment.
“We are very excited to see that the streaming platforms are investing and putting a lot of energy and betting on the market. Usually they didn’t work with independent producers and now this opens a huge door for a lot of talent. The more one produces in Mexico or Colombia, it becomes clear the level of talent there is and that they deserve these windows that are opening. Since we started now, we’ve really seen growth in how the industry as a whole is set up. Before the writers did not have managers, now almost all do. They are organizing locally. Also in terms of operator fees and things like that. This is helping everything start flowing like a chain,” said Diana Mejía-Jones, VP of Spanish Development and Integrated Marketing at Campanario Entertainment.
Campanario recently appointed Tita Lombardo as director of Physical Production in Latin America, who previously was collaborating with the company for three years. She participated in the production of the three seasons of Cómo Sobrevivir Soltero for Amazon and Pantaya, and in the first season of La Flor más Bella, which is in post-production for Netflix.
“We focus strongly on the quality of what we are offering, so we prefer to be very selective in the projects we put together. It is a great asset to have Tita leading our production in Mexico, she is one of the most veteran producers,” concluded Mejía.
