Luis Miguel has had a connection to Chile since the 1980’s when he first brought his music to the country
Canal 13 Chile announces the acquisition of the rights to the TV series based on the life of Luis Miguel, the internationally renowned music superstar and Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum recording artist. Luis Miguel has had a connection to Chile since the 1980’s when he first brought his music to the country. The singer will be played by Mexican actor and singer Diego Boneta (Rock of Ages, Pretty Little Liars).
Canal 13’s Chief of Programming Sebastián Sánchez said, “Luis Miguel is one of Latin America’s favorite music artists. For Canal 13 this is a tremendous opportunity to bring our audience the official story of his life”.
“Delivering premium content to the Spanish-speaking market is a priority for MGM and we are proud to bring the only officially authorized story about Luis Miguel’s life to Chile through our partner Canal 13,” said Chris Ottinger, MGM’s president Worldwide Television Distribution and Acquisitions.
The TV series is being produced by Gato Grande Productions, a joint venture between Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and Mexican entrepreneurs Miguel Alemán Magnani and Antonio Cue Sánchez Navarro. MGM’s President of Television and Digital Mark Burnett will help develop the series and lead Gato Grande in its first scripted project designed to tackle the growing US Latino market. MGM serves as the international distributor for the series.
