TV Azteca and the Mexican Baseball League (LMB, initials in Spanish) announced an agreement for the broadcast of Mexican baseball, a historical event that will include the Serie del Rey 2017, as well as the two championships and post-seasons in 2018. This alliance turns TV Azteca in the official open television partner of the LMB, starting to air live and direct from September 5 on the a+ channel.
The conference, hosted by Inés Sainz, was attended by: Enrique Domínguez, director of a+, Javier Salinas, CEO of the LMB, Rodolfo Ramírez, director of Azteca Deportes, Rafael Ayala of Azteca Deportes, with Óscar Francisco Cano and Juan Antonio Hernández, whom together with Antonio Rosique will be in charge of narrating the baseball games.
Domínguez commented: “I am very pleased to share with all of you today that in TV Azteca we continue with our reinvention, thanks to the joint effort of TV Azteca and the LMB. The king of sports returns to open TV on the new a+ channel on 7.2, allowing fans of this sport to live the complete experience of sports. a+ on 7.2 will be its new home”.
For his part, Javier Salinas assured this alliance is an honor, since after two decades they will offer the Serie del Rey and hundreds of games during 2018, free of charge to more than 30 million fans and that way “offer dynamism and equality so that baseball reaches all the corners of Mexico”.
