Carolyn Lopez Herrera, a television producer with 25 years of experience, has been named director of Production and Series Development of Canela Media. She will be overseeing the production of new content and help create and develop original content for Canela Media.
Born in Washington Heights, New York, from a Dominican background, she graduated from The New School University with a degree in Cultural Studies.
López Herrera has developed, written, and produced programming for MTV, MTV Tr3s, MTVU, VH1, ABC, A&E, Bravo, YouTube Originals, iHeart Radio, The History Channel, Nickelodeon, HBO, CBS, Fuse MSG Network, and AOL Latino.
Throughout her career López Herrera has produced in both the general and Latin markets; overseeing the Specials Production Department for MTV Tr3s, Producing Programming shows such as the concert series Sessiones@AOL Latino, the award-winning Hispanic Heritage Month special hosted by Gloria Estefan, as well as directing and producing documentary short films for the National Puerto Rican Day Parade.
Herrera has also had post-production supervising roles for shows such as A24 Film’s At Home with Amy Sedaris, 2019 The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga, and most recently MTV’s Fresh Out Live Weekly Music News studio show.
