Canela Media announced its new proprietary data solution for advertisers -Canela Connect-, the evolution of Canela Studios’ content strategy that includes 2,000 hours of original content by 2023-2024; the launch of its new original reality series, Secretos de las Indomables (a spinoff of Secretos de Villanas) which will debut mid-year and the second season of Secretos de Villanas. Isabel Rafferty Zavala, founder, and CEO, offered these announcements during a presentation at IAB NewFronts.
The presentation also includes Oswald Méndez, Chief Marketing Officer; Andrés Rincón, SVP of Sales for the Eastern US and Latin America, and Matt Montemayor, SVP of Sales for the Western and Central US.
Rafferty explained that the Canela Connect tool focuses on an OTT approach that helps target US Hispanic audiences on OTT platforms in English and Spanish. “Canela Connect is a proprietary data solution that provides unprecedented OTT scale for advertisers to reach US Hispanics thanks to the direct connections Canela Media has with Roku, Samsung, Vizio, FreeTV, and others,” she commented. Canela Connect and Canela Media’s expanded OTT audience will provide brands with a potential reach of 50 million unique users.
Among the original productions that will be released are 40 films in development exclusively for Canela.TV and 12 new original productions that include Secretos de las Indomables (cast: Alicia Machado, Ninel Conde, Zuleyka Rivera, Patricia Manterola, Amara “La Negra” and Yuri) and Secretos de Villanas, season 2.
They also announced that the Canela Music channel will offer connection to brands through spaces such as Rising Notes, Story Time, Room Service, El Top 10, and South by Southwest Showcase. The Canela Kids app, which in addition to being an app is a FAST channel, will offer content such as the series of short films SúperEllas and Club Mundo Kids. The Canela Deportes channel, with programs such as 100% Fútbol, El Score, live sports from the Major Arena Soccer League [MASL], the Professional Baseball League of Dominican Republic, and Canela Boxing, in addition to the upcoming debut of Campeonas, a space that covers the biggest sporting events of the year for women’s soccer from Australia and New Zealand.
