Caracol Television reaches a licensing agreement with Netflix in Latin America

Caracol Television reached a licensing agreement with Netflix to provide the subscription service many hours of soap operas and series from the Colombian channel’s broad content library. The multi-year license agreement comes in the wake of the announcement that Netflix is expanding to 43 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, offering movies and unlimited series transmitted instantly through Internet. Netflix is the leading subscription service for online movies and shows with over 25 million members in the USA and Canada.The agreement will facilitate and increase the availability of Caracol Television’s content throughout Latin America. “It is certainly a great partnership that allows the success of our channel’s productions to continue traveling the region and reinforces once again our strategic plan to monetize our content across multiple platforms, which in turn provide a great user experience” said Lisette Osorio, International senior director, Caracol Television.
