Alejandro Bernal, manager of New Channels and Cinema at Caracol Televisión, is in charge of handling the channel´s international signals, recently managing to incorporate the HD signal in Latin America and in the US.
“We have opened two feeds, one in the US and another in Spain. We are doing it independently to support the area of advertising, increasing possibilities for our advertisers” comments Bernal.
“The relation with cable operators is very good and this is reflected in the renewal of contracts and new distribution agreements” adds the executive.
Another area Bernal is performing in is cinema, where, through investments in national films, Caracol Televisión becomes an associate producer. “A successful case was the film El Abrazo De La Serpiente, nominated for an Academy Award”.
Caracol Televisión is currently involved in four cinema projects that will be shown during the first semester of 2018. “Cinema is very important because of the aim to reach more and more audiences, allowing us to consolidate our position as producers” concluded Bernal.
