Cisneros Media has had a positive experience preparing for AVOD and FAST. “Cable will continue to grow, as well as over-the-air, but there will be a consumption realignment. What matters to us is to be on all the platforms where people can view our content. The AVOD market has grown a lot for us in recent years and this trend will continue. I think we have done a great job. There are some agreements that restrict some titles on AVOD, but our library is big enough that we have to offer,” said Carlos Cabrera, VP of Pay TV Sales at Cisneros Media.
In streaming, Cisneros Media is betting on Novelisima, an over-the-air channel that already covers 122 cities in the US and that also has FAST channel which is available in Mexico on the Roku Channel, in Brazil in Portuguese on Samsung TV Plus, on Canela.TV and on Local NOW. “We are still looking for distribution in FAST. Now it is very important to get that audience by all means, it can be direct to consumers with your own app or through the platforms and MVPDs that are on the market. We are happy, the channel continues to grow and has been well received,” said Cabrera.
Regarding the pay TV, VePlus, Cabrera noted that its audience “has remained quite well in the US.” He added that they have never stopped producing original content for the signal, not even during the pandemic.
“Miss Venezuela went well in the US. We continue to have a variety of shows, a new one every day on the channel’s strip. On weekends we have talk shows. We are in pre-production of a new talk show for VePlus that we will announce later in the year. The idea is to keep investing in content because it’s still attractive for VePlus and for all the new platforms,” he said.
