Barry Chamberlain, president of International Sales at CBS Studios International, stated that the proposal they presented during their screenings to Latin American buyers this past Saturday, May 18th willl be well-received by the countries of the region, because they have the premise that if it is successful in the US, it will be in the rest of the region. Along with being a prestigious brand and having a production machinery whose results are quality programs and series, they are incorporating multicultural characters to the stories, including Latin Americans, who generate connection with the audience.
One of the innovations they showed is the return of Beverly Hills 90210, the iconic series from the 90s, in a 2019 version with the original actors reunited after two decades. The talent formed by Jason Priestley, Gabrielle Carteris, Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth and Ian Ziering interacted during the event with the attendees.
The comedy Broke tells the story of Jackie (Pauley Perrette), who is a single mother and receives in her house her sister Elizabeth (Natasha Leggero)and her Latino husband Javier (Jaime Camil), son of a millionaire, who decides not to give them more resources. Tommy—also a comedy— tells the perspective of the first woman head of police of Los Angeles, played by Edie Falco. And Evil, anoher of the dramas presented, is a psychological mystery thriller with Mike Colter and Katja Herbers in which they investigate crimes and explore the origin of evil; and The Unicorn, starring Walton Goggins, who plays Wade, a man whom after becoming a widower, tries to find a bit of normalcy in his life, accompanied by his friends.
Other series presented: FBI: Most Wanted, Nacy Drew, Star Trek; Discovery and Star Trek Coming Soon, among others.
