Hoy Mismo, led by journalist Edgardo Melgar, will bring viewers national and international news coverage, including the latest updates on sports, business, health, and culture in Honduras
Centroamérica TV has secured top-quality Honduran news and sports programming from Honduras’ highest-rated television network, Televicentro Honduras, including exclusive U.S. pay-TV rights to air National Honduran Professional Soccer League games, as well as exclusive rights to the popular news program Hoy Mismo.
The National Honduran Professional Soccer League (Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras, in Spanish) features 10 teams, among them the current champions C.D. Motagua, the league’s winningest team Club Deportivo Olimpia, and the popular Real C.D. España. Centroamérica TV will exclusively air the most important match of the week during the regular season, semi-finals and finals, as well as extensive coverage of the Torneo Clausura and Torneo Apertura.
The Honduran newscast of Hoy Mismo, led by esteemed veteran journalist Edgardo Melgar, will bring viewers national and international news coverage, including the latest updates on sports, business, health and culture in Honduras. The program, which airs weeknights at 9pm ET/6pm PT, rounds out Centroamérica TV’s Honduran news programming, which also includes the popular newscast Hable Como Habla, added to the line-up in early August.
“With the addition of the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras and the newscast Hoy Mismo, we will be able to bring our viewers together around the sport that provokes passion from all over the world and the news that unites people,” said Francisco Gimenez, general manager of cable networks of Hemisphere Media Group, Inc., Centroamérica TV’s parent company.
