The lack of alternatives regarding small OTT channels packages in the US market led CenturyLink to launch CenturyLink Stream Latino with a variety of sports, entertainment, family and local channels in Spanish, including a Cloud DVR, all for only US$15 monthly.
“We consider that the Latino market is underserved. Most of the offering forces users to buy channels in English before having the chance to buy channels packages in Spanish” said Steve Sklar, VP, Content Strategy at CenturyLink.
He added they are considering to include other channels packages like Children, Music, and Roots.
For Sklar, OTT will continue to grow at a fast rate in the next years. “We’re broadband providers and we feel optimistic about selling more broadband in our market as a result of this growth. Many consumers are increasingly finding more service value in OTT, this is widespread. We see more content available in OTT and also more available devices. These are good news for users” he highlighted.
CenturyLink Stream Latino encompasses 27 channels, including local subsidiaries UniMás and Univision. Additional programming includes: Atreseries, Azteca, BandaMax, beIN SPORTS, beIN SPORTS en Español, Cine Sony, Cinema Dinamita, De Película, De Película Clásico, Discovery en Español, Discovery Familia, EstrellaTV, FOROtv, Galavisión, History en Español, RitmoSon, Semillitas, TeleHit, UniMás, Univisión, Univisión Deportes Network, Univisión Tlnovelas, ViendoMovies and ZooMoo.
