Charter announced a Facebook soccer kick contest where the winner will appear in a Spectrum commercial with Mexican National Team Captain Andrés Guardado. From now until September 12, soccer fans and fanatics can submit a video of themselves via email at spectrum@adcastells.com performing their best freestyle trick shot.
A panel of judges will choose the player with the slickest soccer skills to appear with Guardado in a new TV ad spotlighting Charter’s wireless service, Spectrum Mobile, to air during the 2022 World Cup.
The contest is part of Charter’s new multimedia marketing campaign featuring Guardado, who also plays professionally in Spain for Real Betis, to promote Spectrum’s products and services as the best way for soccer fans to enjoy all their favorite World Cup action in Spanish.
Charter kicked off the campaign this week with its first commercial starring Guardado, which offers new customers who sign up for its Hispanic-themed TV package, Spectrum Mi Plan Latino, and Spectrum Internet 12 months of Peacock Premium at no additional cost.
“The World Cup is the most-watched sporting event in the world, and the anticipation and passion that soccer fans experience are profound – especially with our Spanish-speaking customers. The combination of Mi Plan Latino, Spectrum Internet, and Peacock Premium will allow our customers to watch all their favorite World Cup teams and matches in Spanish on any device at any time, anywhere, and our partnership with Andrés Guardado will help us connect with the avid Hispanic soccer community across the U.S. while giving one lucky fan the chance to share their fútbol skills with one of the greatest midfielders in the game today,” said Marisol Martinez, VP of Multicultural Marketing for Charter.
