Imagina International Sales, international distributor of Grupo Mediapro, closed an agreement with Imagen Televisión for the Mexican adaptation of the series Chiringuito de Pepe.
The series produced by Mediaset España in collaboration with 100 Balas, which belongs to Mediapro, was launched on Telecinco´s primetime and became leader of that schedule throughout the entire first season.
The temporary title of the Mexican version is Changarrito de Pepe. It will have 60 episodes and shootings will start in 2018 at some emblematic place on the Mexican coast, that has still not been determined.
Chiringuito de Pepe tells the adventures of a chef awarded with several Michelin stars, renowned worldwide, who suddenly has to refloat his father´s beach business, ignoring that he is the son his father never knew he had.
“We are starting to look for the actors who will embody the main characters of this great story we feel will touch in a special way the hearts of the Mexican audience,” commented Aurelio Valcárcel, director of Fiction Production for Imagen Televisión.
We are sure this marvelous story will repeat in the territory the amazing ratings it has already reaped in Spain,” added Beatriz Setuain, Managing director of Imagina International Sales.
