Maribel Ramos-Weiner| January 13, 2013

Cine Estelar and Cine Nostalgia, the leading channels of Mexican movies for U.S. Hispanics, announced that their programming will be added to the AT&T U-verse TV U-Latino and Paquete Espanol packages in January 2013. Both channels are devoted to Mexican films and exclusive original productions. “In today’s market, pay-TV platforms look for channels that secure unique differentiation and rights to key content. Cine Estelar and Cine Nostalgia offer these and more,” said Carlos Vasallo, president and CEO of both channels. “The channels offer a vast portfolio of movies, showing 300 new releases and more than 100 hours of original new productions during primetime per year. We program to meet the specific needs of Hispanics and specifically the large Mexican community in the United States. AT&T U-verse offers an extensive list of Spanish-language channels and we are thrilled to be a part of the AT&T U-verse TV lineup.”“On average, a Spanish channel lineup includes 40 to 50 Spanish channels with an average pay-TV distributor. For a TV channel, keeping its differentiation and consistently pulling its audience is key to competing. Cine Nostalgia ranked among the top 10 Spanish channels and Cine Estelar reliably ranked every week of last year as the No. 1 channel, right after large Hispanic TV networks Univision, Telemundo, TeleFutura and Galavisión,” highlighted Vasallo.“Cine Estelar and Cine Nostalgia are terrific additions to our existing Spanish-language programming in our U200 Latino, U300 Latino, U450 Latino and Paquete Espanol, which include up to 50 Spanish-language TV channels,” said Julie Tran, director of Multicultural programming, AT&T Home Solutions. Cine Estelar and Cine Nostalgia will be included in AT&T U-verse U-Latino and Paquete Espanol packages on channels 3124 and 3125 respectively.
