Cynthia Hudson, Senior VP and General Manager of CNN en Español and Hispanic Strategy for CNN/US: We are very excited to deepen our presence in the Spanish market, which has long been a goal of our team
CNN en Español is tapping into the growing connection that Spanish audiences have developed with its digital content over recent years by launching a 24-hour streaming channel in Spain. The channel will be available starting Tuesday, the 8th, on Rakuten TV and Wednesday, the 16th, on Samsung TV Plus, with LG Channels to follow soon.
This move will make CNN en Español’s 24-hour programming available to audiences in this key market, offering a new way to engage with the network’s well-known content.
“We are very excited to deepen our presence in the Spanish market, which has long been a goal of our team. We’ve witnessed the growing interest of Spanish audiences in our news content from Latin America and around the world on CNNEspanol.com. This launch brings our programming and the talent of our journalists to an entirely new audience, marking an exciting new chapter for CNN en Español in Europe,” said Cynthia Hudson, Senior VP and General Manager of CNN en Español and Hispanic Strategy for CNN/US.
“Building on CNN’s success in reaching new audiences through FAST channels and streaming, we are thrilled to make CNN en Español available to audiences in Spain and expand access to its valuable reporting,” added Humphrey Black, VP of Distribution for CNN International Commercial.
To celebrate the launch, CNN en Español’s team will produce two of its flagship programs from Madrid in October: Café CNN with Alejandra Oraa and Conclusiones with Fernando del Rincón.
