Deportes Telemundo: New sets are just the beginning

The new Deportes Telemundo studios recently unveiled in Hialeah, is just the first of a series of investments that Comcast and NBCUniversal have made in Telemundo, which include the acquisition of the rights for the FIFA World Cup starting in 2015.“On the next stage we will unveil the digital and social media areas. We currently stream all games we produce and this will increase significantly with the investment we’re making in the next six to nine months. It is a multi-million dollar plan that includes the studios, control room and the upcoming improvements,” Jorge Hidalgo, EVP of Deportes Telemundo, told PRODU.Hidalgo emphasized the company will invest even more in the next 18 months “to reach the level where we want to be and where the audience expects us to be.”“We’re very pleased and are working hard to be the best option for all Spanish-speaking viewers. Deportes Telemundo is the only entity in the U.S. that produces its own Mexican league games. It is part of the commitment to offer the best to our viewers,” he added.
