Monzón, The series produced by Disney Media Distribution LatAm and Pampa Films, was launched worldwide on Monday, March 25 in the context of Series Manía, in Lille, France, the current most important TV series competition festival. Likewise, it was confirmed that the debut in Latin America of the first two episodes on Space, will be on Monday, June 17 at 10pm, without commercial breaks.
Monzón is the only series in Latin America and US Hispanic participating in this tenth edition of Series Manía, in the section Panorama Internacional, space in which they screened 15 series from around the world.
Leonardo Aranguibel, director of Production at Disney and Pablo Bossi, CEO of Pampa Films and showrunner presented the series and participated in a long section of questions from the audience attending the premiere. The screening of the two episodes generated enthusiastic comments from the audience.
“For us, it is an honor to be on Series Manía. This series is very important, because despite the fact that what it tells occurred around thirty years ago, it is a very current topic, which the world strongly discusses nowadays,” said Aranguibel.
“Today, I think that Series Manía is the most important global TV series festival worldwide, at least in the western hemisphere, that I know of. There is no other festival in competition. Series Manía began 10 years ago and took that point where everything started,” emphasized Aranguibel.
Monzón (13×60´), directed by Jesús Braseras, tells the life of the great Argentinean champion who didn’t know how to escape from violence. It covers the murder of Alicia Muñiz, his last woman and mother of his young child, which Monzón is the accused of committing.
