Disney announced at the NewFronts 2018, in New York, that it will create a free OTT for the millennial audience and Gen Z audience, which will be paid for with advertising.
“We know that our customers and advertisers are looking for unique, attractive, secure and diverse ways to reach their audiences on a large scale,” said Rita Ferro, president of Advertising Sales for Disney / ABC Television Group.
Disney is offering this option so that advertisers can reach this attractive target effectively, without having the security problems that have been recently affecting YouTube’s platform.
In addition, Disney has plans to launch its OTT platform by the end of 2019. Right now, they are in the process of developing a content catalog.
