Luisa Mancilla is doing, in the coordination of Punta Fina, what she calls “balance management”, because she must perform a variety of tasks that include production, agenda management, schedules, clients, alliances, as well as the creative part, accompanying the writers´rooms and watch the operations in the offices in Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina.
Dealing with diverse cultural contexts that coexist in such a diverse company is part of the challenge. But in this lies the richness that is vital for creativity. Writers are from diverse nationalities, ages, sociocultural contexts, which contributes a great deal to the team. Mancilla has the advantage of having lived in or having family ties in almost every country in which Punta Fina has offices or connections, which makes it understand better the whole environment of each place.
Mancilla explained that there is no straightjacket when choosing a team to set up a project because each project has its own life. “Any person in the team can propose something, and together, we evaluate and develop the idea”.
Along with accompanying the creative process that takes place in each country, she must carry out formal duties: comply with delivery dates, adjust agendas, accompany alliance agreements, as well as work on the development of a global and long-term, structure and strategy. “We are getting ready for when this situation is over. I think we will come out strengthened, therefore we are working on alliances with production companies and strengthening our teams. We are currently centered on exporting content to other countries.”
