(Maribel Ramos-Weiner). This past Tuesday, Telemundo announced its 16th production out of its Miami studios: El fantasma de Elena. It was written by Humberto “Kico” Olivieri and features a cast of international stars.The telenovela will premiere on July 20th, one day after the finale of Perro Amor. It stars Elizabeth Gutiérrez, Segundo Cernadas, Ana Layevska, and Fabián Ríos.Patricio Wills, President of Telemundo Studios, said he was proud of his team, with whom he is currently working on five projects simultaneously.“I have to say every time I sit with my friend ‘Kico’ Olivieri to brainstorm new projects, I freeze. When he tells me he has an idea I shiver. This is the most daring project we have ever worked together with ‘Kico’. It is a novela with suspense, mystery, love, but above all, it’s a telenovela,” said Wills.Wills applauded the work of his directors. Art director, Óscar Cortéz, created a set which Wills believes “it’s the biggest I’ve seen in a television production, and I’ve been to Projac in Rio de Janeiro three times.” He also thanked the telenovela producer, Aurelio Valcárcel.“This is only possible with the support of Telemundo, always pushing us to go farther. Don Browne is behind all this and drives us to go the extra mile; and that is what we are doing,” he emphasized.{Click here to see photos of the launch of El fantasma de Elena;www.produ.com/eventos/index.html?ID=889}
