Endemol Shine Boomdog is developing original culinary series Orígenes, featuring three of the top chef’s in the world exploring their Latin American gastronomic roots.
Orígenes features acclaimed Argentinian chef Mauro Colagreco, Peru’s Virgilio Martinez and Mexico’s Jorge Vallejo—who own and run Latin American restaurants all ranked in the top 50 of the 2017 World’s Best Restaurants in the World list. The series will be directed by Emmy and James Beard award-winning filmmaker Jesse Roesler.
Sergio Pizzolante, who is managing partner of C&T Mobs Agency and formerly general manager of E! Networks Latin America, will serve as executive producer. Pizzolante is also serving as an executive producer on Endemol Shine Boomdog’s upcoming drama series Nicky Jam: El Ganador. Nidal Barake, founder of Gluttonomy, and Sergio Gómez will also serve as executive producers.
“Orígenes will take viewers on a ride across Latin America like no other, exploring the region’s food origins with three of the top chef’s in the world. And with an award-winning filmmaker like Jesse Roesler behind the camera, each episode will make you hungry for more,” says Endemol Shine Boomdog CEO Alejandro Rincón.
Each 30-minute episode of Orígenes will be a journey of discovery, tracing specific techniques and cooking styles to its source. The series will include episodes set in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru and other Latin American nations.
