MasterChef´s tour in Latin America has been very relevant, and for 2019 it will be no less, said Michelle Wasserman, SVP Format Licences and Content Development at Endemol Shine Latino, after stating that during this year there will be eleven different versions on the air. “We announced the 60th country, that is Panama, and we will probably have the 61st and 62nd, also of Latin origin, which we hope to be able to reveal soon,” said Wasserman.
She highlighted the very interesting licenses business they have and all that is generated around the production of the program. “We are working very well in the digital world, in the exploitation of content, with branded content of the content in Spanish, and business opportunities largely derived from sponsoring and off-the-air promotional actions, which has been done strongly in Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, and now in Uruguay and Paraguay” she stated, emphasizing the case of Dominican Republic, whose broadcast of the program had enormous repercussion in the country, being trending topic during the entire broadcast of the second day, and which came to paralyze the country, because the people who were working in broadcast schedule asked to leave early, and some streets were closed for this reason during the final episode. “It was a before and after in the history of Dominican television,” she said.
MasterChef has been adapted in 60 territories around the world. In total, until now, there have been 375 MasterChef series worldwide, in which 46 adaptations have been made from the start of 2018.
