Michelle Wasserman, SVP Format Licensing and Content Development at Endemol Shine Latino, commented that they are working on a MasterChef channel in Spanish to be launched in the region.
According to her, it has been an extraordinary year for the group. “Our priority is basically to work on this positioning we achieved in Latin America that we are consolidating today.”
With MasterChef, they managed to be on the air simultaneously in more than ten countries in the region, with new seasons in Uruguay, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Chile, and new countries, and the 60th country that launches it, Panama. “We are soon going to announce the 61st and maybe the 62nd country, which is probably Latin American, as well.”
Likewise, they are seeing the possibilities to develop the series The Bridge with two neighbor countries. Along with the traditional scripted and non-scripted business, “we have been working for a long time with our digital area, both in London and in Brazil, where we have a department set up in our production company.”
She also mentioned that “this year a huge job has been done in terms of digital exploitation of our content in the entire region.”
On the other hand, they are working with the licensing department in the parent company in London and Los Angeles with businesses derived from different types of products. For example, with MasterChef, the group already announced an alliance with a cruise chain.
