Andrew Semchenko, CEO of English Club TV, said from Cannes that the channel to learn English and the applications have been growing constantly in the last few months and he revealed that part of their effort and strategy is focused on the VOD service.
”Time is very important for people if they can choose what to watch and when all subscribers are more satisfied. Eighty-five percent of our audience prefers VOD since they don´t have to wait to watch the program they want to watch. Everybody knows that is where the future lies and that is where we are heading,” said Semchenko.
The executive mentioned that their distribution strategy has been changing in the last few months, when more and different players or OTT platforms have entered the game, with apps for smartphones. “We are on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon, as well as applications for Android and IOS”.
”We are present in more than 100 territories, and with the feedback, we receive from the market, we know that people appreciate our channel to learn English in a more inexpensive and dynamic way. Also, thanks to the statistics, we can see that content for children is currently doing very well,” assured Semchenko.
