Eric Jürgensen, the CEO and Chief Content Officer of América TV, will step down from the General Management of the channel on March 31, after an impeccable 15-year path, having taken the Peruvian channel América TV out of bankruptcy and positioned it for the following 170 consecutive months as the leader of Peruvian TV. He is moving to Miami to assume new challenges and responsibilities as of April this year, opening a consultancy company, Jürgensen Media Group, that will soon announce their first agreements.

“I am leaving very happy satisfied with the fulfilled duty. I am very proud, because in my administration, together with the great team in terms of professional and human qualities, in front of and behind the screen, that accompanied me, we have managed to carry the channel forward, out of bankruptcy, and today —after 15 years— I am pleased to hand in a very well-positioned channel, with an unarguable leadership, an Ebitda profitability, in the last 15 years, between 30% and 40%, and a value 4 times higher of the company than when I received it,” said Jürgensen.

Eric will be in charge as Advisor of Content and Programming, until December 31, 2018, and will possibly be appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of América TV.

Pablo Massi, current Commercial Manager of Peru´s América TV, will assume in April the General Management of the channel, after 12 years in the company. Massi was part of Eric Jürgensen’s team.

“We are profoundly grateful for Eric’s professional contribution throughout more than 14 years leading the channel. Eric will close his cycle in América TV, leaving it in an unarguably leading position in Peru. Eric’s responsibility included working with the succession plan, centered on Pablo Massi, who will undertake the challenge of maintaining and consolidating the leadership,” expressed José Antonio Miró Quesada Ferreyros, president of the channel’s Board.

For his part, Jürgensen commented: “I leave the guard in Pablo’s hands, happy and grateful for the Board’s support and the satisfaction of the fulfilled duty. After arriving at the channel in 2003, we have since then significantly increased the value of this home. I am confident that Pablo, together with the team we have formed, will take the channel to new heights.”
