ESPN Deportes will provide exclusive coverage of the 2018 Caribbean Series from Jalisco, Mexico, starting on Friday, February 2.
Coverage begins at 2pm ET with Venezuela vs. Cuba, followed by 2017 reigning champion, Puerto Rico, facing the series host, Mexico, at 9pm ET. The entire tournament will also be available on ESPN Deportes Radio and streaming on the ESPN App.
The 2018 Caribbean Series ESPN Deportes team of commentators are integrated by Ernesto Jerez, Jorge Eduardo Sánchez (play by play), Luis Alfredo Álvarez, Eitan Benezra (analysis), Enrique Rojas, Guillermo Celis and Marly Rivera (field reporters) on ESPN Deportes; on ESPN Deportes Radio are Renato Bermúdez and José Francisco Rivera (play by play), Jorge Ebro and former MLB pitcher Orlando “El Duque” Hernández (analysis). In an effort to generate excitement around Serie del Caribe 2018, ESPN Deportes launched a marketing campaign titled Beisbolismos del Caribe. The campaign features phrases in Spanish, used in everyday life that originated from baseball language. Through videos, articles and illustrations, the campaign highlights idioms used in everyday life in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela.
