During the fourth edition of MipCancún, participants agreed in highlighting the practical and efficient nature of the business meetings model, which allows personal gatherings in quality spaces.
Robert Marking, SVP, Sales & Business Development at Reed Midem, organizer of the event, said the have grown and highlighted the new format for co-production meetings, and other quality spaces that different markets do not offer.
Edward Sabin, Executive Managing Director, International, A+E Networks, stated they have great interest in meeting producers with new and good ideas, while Virginia Mouseler, CEO of The Wit, commented that the Latin American market has evolved from telenovelas to weekly series, raising their level of production.
For his part, Ricardo Ehrsam, who is attending for the first time with his distributor Maluc Entertainment, expressed that the event allows seeing more people in less time than other markets.
TV Azteca counted for the second time with a special space for the encounters with their clients, which Ramón Salomón -Content Distribution Operations director of the company—described as the interest they are placing on participating in a very active way in international markets.
Alejandro Toro, Co-productions director at Caracol, stated that they are attending for the first time the co-producers´market, where they are focused on looking for partners in the aim to develop productions for third parties. “It has been intense, with very good meetings and prospects to be able to make contents.”
Carla Duarte, creative director at Sabbatical Entertainment, who is attending the event for the first time, said that what is interesting about MipCancún is that it is aimed at the Latin American market, “which is transforming in an amazing way because everyone is seeking to produce new, more innovative content.”
