Former Comcast Cable´s Rubén Mendiola new president of mun2

NBCUniversal’s Hispanic Enterprises and Content announced that cable industry veteran, Rubén Mendiola, has been named president of its cable channel, mun2. He will report to Joe Uva, Chairman, Hispanic Enterprises and Content, NBCUniversal.In his new role, Mendiola will focus on developing and driving the cable channel’s overall strategy and programming, and provide operational leadership across the business. In collaboration with the organization’s senior management, he will be responsible for identifying opportunities for the cable channel to grow its distribution, drive ratings and align the organization for future growth.“Rubén’s expertise and deep understanding of the U.S. Hispanic market will play an essential role in evolving this cable property into the future. He and his team will develop and acquire content to build a relevant, high demand general entertainment cable network for the rapidly expanding U.S. Hispanic audience,” said Uva.“I am proud and honored to join NBCUniversal’s Hispanic Enterprises and Content division. mun2 is a terrific channel with a tremendous potential. Most recently, Mendiola was with Comcast Cable and served as senior vice president and general manager of Multicultural Services.
