FOX Networks Group Latin America continues to strengthen its proposal with original contents and is already filming Ouro Branco (10×60´) —title in process—, a dramatic fiction based on a true story about the war between the drug cartels in Rio de Janeiro in the 1990s. It will reach the entire region in 2018 on FOX Premium and on FOX app’s premium access.
The series narrates the story of Evandro, a young man from Rio de Janeiro, whom, after joining the army loses his brother, killed amidst a negotiation intrinsically related with drug dealing. His desire for revenge will place him at the head of one of the biggest crime organizations worldwide, at the same time that his success as a drug dealer will draw the attention of Morello, a veteran, self-destructive policeman.
Édgar Spielmann, EVP, and COO from FOX Networks Group Latin America said: “Ouro Branco is based on real-life facts taken to fiction by an excellent team of writers and to the screens of FOX Premium by the best directors and producers in the region. We are convinced that this proposal will be an additional hit that will join those already achieved by the series we have produced in Latin America”.
Directed by René Sampaio and Tomás Portella, the series has a great Latin American cast that gathers the Brazilians Raphael Logam (Evandro), Rui Ricardo (Morello), Cyria Coentro, André Gonçalves and Fernanda Machado, together with the Uruguayan César Troncoso, the Argentineans Jean Pierre Noher, Germán Palacios and Julieta Zylberberg, among other actors.
The shooting will take two months in different locations in Río de Janeiro and in Uruguay, and will be produced by Barry Company.
