France 24 celebrates its second anniversary of the start of its operations in Colombia, airing in the morning from 6 to 8 am and after from 6 to 10pm. The rest of the hours is complemented by the signal in English and/or French.
“We are evaluating the increase in broadcast hours we produce here and seeing very good results in very little time. At a digital level so far in 2019, we have 11 million visits to the webpage and more than 10 million visualizations on YouTube,” comments Álvaro Sierra, director of France 24.
Currently, France 24 has a presence on the cable operators of 17 out of 19 Spanish-speaking countries. In digital, the US and Spain stand out due to visualizations through the web.
“We have identified that our audience in 52% are women and that a third are under 34 years old. This proves to us that we are reaching a niche of different TV viewers from the traditional ones with signals similar to ours,” adds Sierra.
In the programs launched recently, Migrantes has been well received by TV viewers. “All the information that has to do with this topic is in high demand,” said Sierra.
We must also mention Carrusel, about art and culture in France, as well as a new sports program and another on debates.
Depending on the increase of hours on Colombia´s part to France 24´s programming, they will gradually add new content.
