Coty Cagliolo, general director of Fremantle Mexico and Head of Production at Fremantle Latin America, said on #VisitaPRODU that Mexico is in its best content creation moment in history, due to the existing high professionalism, and that it is necessary to protect this situation and be very responsible for it to last.
“The industry in Mexico is doing very well thanks to connectivity, the high professional quality offered here, great talent, and above all, because of the content. There are a great creativity and great stories. That is why we created PIMA so that among independent producers, we can support each other, and manage to protect the audiovisual content industry here, that is the heart of content creation in the region,” said Cagliolo.
The executive mentioned that Fremantle has a vast catalog of gameshows and realities such as Project Runway, Family Feud, American Idol, among others, that have more than 300 hours of production so far this year, and that they handle from Mexico everything related with national open TV, pay-TV at a pan-regional level, the Hispanic market in the US, and now they also work for platforms.
Cagliolo believes that audiences miss the programs they saw when they were younger and that somehow they are going back to watching television the way they did in the past, despite the existing new consumption mechanisms.
“At Fremantle, we are moving globally. We continue looking for projects and partnerships that are going to enable us to expand. We want to continue developing local, quality production so we can also reach other borders with what we do with our spirit from here,” she ended.
