FremantleMedia Mexico: This year’s challenge is bringing fiction locally

FremantleMedia Mexico had an active 2013, producing a wide range of genre fit for its market: game shows, talent shows, and reality shows for channels such as Azteca, Televisa, Glitz (Project Runway) of Turner LatAm, and MundoFOX in the U.S. Hispanic (over 100 episodes of 100 Latinos Dijeron).Coty Cagliolo, Creative Director of FremantleMedia Mexico since mid-2013, told PRODU: “The challenge for 2014 is entering into the realm of fiction. This is the one area we have not worked with and we’re creating a development plan. We already have ideas and proposals. The challenge is working on a genre we have not dealt with locally in Latin America. It’s something completely new and we’re excited about it.”Cagliolo said it is extremely important for the company to communicate to its clients it has the ability to produced content from its catalog as well as productions customized for their users: “they can commission tailor-made productions, which is something many people do not consider when approaching a company such as FremantleMedia. We are undergoing an expansion period, and are putting together a development team to cater to all our clients. We’re also building a catalog of third-party acquisitions as well as of original content,” she added.
