The second season of the first original Cinelatino series, El Desconocido: La Historia del Cholo Adrián, that has its debut in the US on Sunday, March 17, has more fiction elements than the first one, in it, they develop new characters and further explore women’s world.
“The first season was a pleasant surprise, it was our first miniseries and Netflix bought it. The second season, although it was not planned, we left several stories open and ended with a cliff-hanger, so it enters in the realm of total fiction,” expressed Carolina Bilbao, executive co-producer of El Desconocido and VP, Programming and Development at Hemisphere.
He mentioned that in the second season they have more freedom to develop new characters, to explore more dramatically what women’s world is like and what it means for a woman to be the head of a cartel and the human cost of living in a narco context. The second season has eight episodes (the first one had five). The series is directed by Gonzalo González and the production company was Plus Entertainment.
“At a business level. for us it is super important to know we have a very close knowledge of the audience. Because, being a movie channel, a channel of storytelling for the Hispanic audience, we have a great understanding of what works and what not with Hispanics, and being able to apply it to original projects is a very important step,” she added.
