Fernanda Merodio, Distribution director at Hemisphere and president of WICT Mexico, said on #VisitaPRODU that just like the way contents are consumed has changed, the way they are distributed has to change as well, and with this, Hemisphere Media Group´s business model.
“We continue distributing our pay channels; we also have Wapa TV and the open TV Canal 1 from Colombia, but with the arrival of platforms and the new consumption mechanisms we have had to reinvent ourselves, change and be at the forefront of new trends. That is why we launched PantaYa, our OTT for the US Hispanic market and now recently launched the production company Yellow, to produce for our channels and distribute our own contents,” said Merodio.
The executive also mentioned some important changes that distributors are having, like delivering contents to different channels and platforms, since now consumers can look for what they want to see when they want to see it and it is important for their company to be able to place channels and contents in each different audience.
Regarding WICT, Merodio expressed that they just celebrated the second anniversary with a very good event, with great panelists and assured it was a total success and that they continue to grow more and more. “With WICT what we want to achieve most is to train women leaders so they can take on decision-making positions, with equal opportunities and find greater gender equity.”
