Less than a month after its launch, the HITN app that allows users to access to programming where and when it wants, has already had more than 3,500 downloads and positive reviews from users.
“We have been broadcasting for a long time and have built a great audience, but the intention is to be able to reach a broader audience. New trends reveal that the audience wants to be able to enjoy TV content in a more flexible and comfortable way. Therefore, this digital transformation has been a natural process of adaptation to our consumers’ needs,” highlighted Guillermo Sierra, Head of Television and Digital Services at HITN, and Maximiliano Vaccaro, Director of Digital Services at HITN.
The app was made with the Applicaster Zapp platform and integrates authentication in the US by Adobe, so users can enter from their accounts and use it. There, they have access to HITN´s linear channel and more than 200 hours of VOD content.
According to the executives, what has been consumed most are educational documentaries on nature and this is aligned with the content strategy, focused on educating and entertaining.
The company is currently working to create a new app for the children’s audience that includes all the children’s content and adapts to their schedules and visualization preferences. The app will be called EDYE —from Educates and Entertains—, and is defined by an animated character that will present the content and guide the user.
