CNN en Español and CNN International made the first joint program of the two networks dedicated to Latin America: Impulso Latinoamericano, a serial 30-minute program that will explore one country in the region in the realms of culture, business, tourism, sports, technology, innovation and development.It will be presented by the Venezuelan journalist Alejandra Oraa and will be included in {CNN.com}´s and {CNNEspañol.com}´s digital platforms and CNN´s social networks. It will be launched next December 11th at 12pm on CNN International and on December 12th at 7:30pm on CNN en Español. “Latin America is full of fascinating stories about wit and innovation, stories that captivate your imagination and celebrate the triumph of the human spirit. This new program will put them on the global scene”, said Mike McCarthy, senior Programming VP at CNN International in a statement.In the first episode, sponsored by Empresas Polar, Impulso Latinoamericano will travel to Colombia, a country that has strong economic growth and a highly qualified work force.Cynthia Hudson, senior VP and general manager of CNN en Español and of Hispanic Strategy for CNN/US, added: “Impulso latinoamericano unites CNN International and CNN en Español in a joint effort to show a thriving and diverse region, full of perseverance and creativity, a region that our news network knows very well and with which we have always been deeply commited”.
