Fernando Medin is the new president and managing director for Latin America and US Hispanic of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) International. He will continue to work from São Paulo and has over his shoulders directing one of the largest and most powerful companies in the entertainment industry. After the merger, we’re talking of significant assets in TV signals, OTT, and sports rights, among others.
Whit Richardson, until now president of WarnerMedia Latin America, is not joining the new team.
“Our combined international business has significant scale and a diversified portfolio, both geographically and in terms of lines of business. Therefore, when deciding on the new leadership structure, we wanted to ensure that we had devoted regional leaders, who represent the scale and complexity of the business, which in turn would allow an increased focus on key markets. The result of this move is a different geographical organization that will replace the one before the merger, also allowing each of the regional leaders to assess faster opportunities for growth and efficiency, and speeds up the integration of both companies,” said Gerhard Zeiler, WBD president.
New regional changes will be announced soon.
