The producer Rosy Ocampo was appointed Corporate Content VP at Televisa, position where she will have the responsibility of supervising production and development of the contents Televisa makes in different genres: telenovelas, series, episodic series, comedies and contests. Ocampo will report to Isaac Lee, responsible for content at Televisa and Univision (Chief Content Officer).
Lee commented: “I have gotten to know Rosy well thanks to the work she has been doing close to Univision, which has allowed us to better know the audiences of those two countries. She is very prolific and, additionally, brings good audience results. Her focus on original stories is an essential factor for this stage that we are starting to build together today.” Finally, she expressed, “In this new stage, teamwork and collaboration between the different areas will be a fundamental aspect to ensure success.”
José Alberto “El Güero” Castro and Roberto Gómez Fernández, who have been guiding the production area in San Angel in the last few months, will return to focus on content production. They will both be key pieces in this new stage, according to what Televisa said in their statement.
Ocampo has produced the most successful novelas in the last few years in Mexico and the US. Since her arrival in 1981, she has made more than 20 productions and held the positions of director of Televisa Niños (2000 to 2005) and director of Innovation (2006 to 2016). The changes in the production structure will be ready in two weeks.
