Jaime Camil, the protagonist of the biopic El Rey, Vicente Fernández talks about the challenges he had to go through to become the king, in the series produced by Caracol Televisión, which will be released on September 14 on Netflix. The official trailer will be available this Wednesday 24.
“Playing Vicente Fernández is an irresistible honor, it is an immeasurable responsibility. Caracol Televisión has been working on this project together with the Fernández family for almost two years, having their approval and always respecting their wishes in terms of how Vicente will be featured, his life, and his story,” said Camil, who stars as the famous “Charro de Huentitán” during his adult life.
Music is a key element in this story, El Rey’s music producer Dan Slotnik highlighted the actor’s work: “It’s impressive to have someone with that level of commitment.”
The singer and actor explained that the preparation to perform the character was constant and beyond making a physical resemblance. “The interpretation entails a series of factors that as an actor must be taken into consideration to show a human character, more than a parody.”
