Fremantle has announced the promotion of Johanna Helman as managing director of Fremantle Mexico and Head of Production for Latin America. She will report to Ganesh Rajaram, CEO of Asia and Latin America for Fremantle.
Helman joined Fremantle in 2016 as executive producer for Cocineros Mexicanos, Fremantle’s first live show for TV Azteca.
In 2020, she led Too Hot to Handle, Fremantle’s first unscripted entertainment production for Netflix in Mexico, earning the PRODU Award for Best Entertainment Producer. That same year was promoted to VP of Production, where she played a key role in the operations of Fremantle’s Production Hubs in Mexico.
In her new role, Helman will build on Coty Cagliolo’s legacy, continuing Fremantle’s growth as one of the top production companies in the Latin American market.
Helman’s promotion follows Coty Cagliolo’s decision to step down from Fremantle at the end of 2024 after 11 years with the company. Since 2017, Coty served as Managing Director of Fremantle Mexico and Head of Production for Latin America, leading regional strategy and expanding Fremantle’s presence in key markets, including US Hispanic, Brazil, and Argentina.
Helman said, “Stepping into this role at such a prestigious company is an honor. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to lead a passionate and creative team focused on producing content that resonates with audiences worldwide.”
Ganesh Rajaram, CEO of Asia and Latin America for Fremantle, added, “With over 20 years in the industry and eight years at Fremantle, Johanna brings the experience and insight needed for this role. I look forward to working more closely with her as we focus on expanding Fremantle in Latin America. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Coty for her outstanding work during her 11 years with Fremantle and wish her all the best for the future.”
