For the first time, Julián Gil will be the co-host of the Latin American Music Awards (Latin AMAs), which debuts on the Univision screen this Thursday the 20th starting at 7pm.
“I feel happy and proud because I think it is a professional and personal achievement, and that I can fulfill this responsibility. Univision has several historical awards such as Premios Lo Nuestro, Latin Grammy, and Premios Juventud. But this is the first time that this award will be held at Univision. The Latin AMAs are so important that it will be the first time that they will be broadcast simultaneously on all TelevisaUnivision networks: Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavision as well as Channel 5 in Mexico. It is an award which turns the network into the house of Latin music,” said Gil enthusiastically.
He feels that his selection as co-host of the Latin AMAs is the network recognition for his many years working there. “In addition to everything I’ve done in acting, people know that I have developed my entire career at Univisión, in different facets, from hosting Nuestra Belleza Latina, the telenovelas that I have done in Mexico all on Univision, the years that I replaced Raúl de Molina in El Gordo y La Flaca and in this new stage with Siéntese Quien Pueda (production of We Love Entertainment)”.
Galilea Montijo, Natti Natasha, and Clarissa Molina will be joining Gil during the awards.
He thanked Ignacio “Nacho” Meyer, president of Univision Television Networks Group, for the opportunity. “He is a great professional and he has a great virtue: he is very human. He has shown every year that he is up for great things and I, as part of the team and talent, support him and thank him for the opportunity.”
He also announced that before the awards, at 3pm, there will be a special edition of the Siéntese Quien Pueda show dedicated to the Latin AMAs.
