This month, SOMOS Productions will complete the recordings of Lucy es el 7, its kid’s series co-produced with Piñolywood Studios. The show leverages the company’s success in this genre and joins titles such as Gina Yei and Súbete a mi moto, the story of Grupo Menudo in its catalog.
Lucy es el 7 tells the story of Lucy, an imaginative girl who, to fulfill her dream, decides to join the boyband assembled by her best friend Anthony, the boy she has always liked and who is determined to become a musical phenomenon such as K-Pop. Lucy will learn that the only way to achieve success is to be herself, work as a team, and create the most original Latin rhythm that any group in the world has performed. Together with six friends, especially with Anthony, she will be the leader of a boyband where she is member number 7.
The fiction musical series, belonging to the teen comedy/drama genre, will have over 20 musical productions and will be distributed in two seasons of 10 episodes each.
Lucy es el 7 combines a fresh and colorful visual style with a graphic approach, in the style of manga and anime, interacting with live action as a narrative element.
The series is written by Vladimir Pérez (who is also the showrunner), directed by Raúl García and Javier Solar, and Daniel Espinoza leads the musical direction. Willie Berríos and Robert Peña handle the photography direction; Harak Rubio, Production design; Julie Michelle Santiago, Costume design; Inés Mongil, general production; Jonathan “Kicker” González, choreography; and Luis Villanueva, Carlos Nido, Ivanna Villanueva, and Francisco Villanueva are the executive producers.
