KMEX Univision 34 of Los Angeles celebrates 50 years

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, KMEX Univision 34 of Los Angeles hosted a special event and gala Thursday Sept. 27 at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. The event highlighted the upcoming local fall programming and boasted talent, celebrities and special music performances. “For 50 years, Univision has been a part of the community – growing and evolving with the young, vibrant and influential Hispanic demographic in Southern California,” said Alberto Mier y Terán, general manager and senior vice president of Univision Los Angeles. “We are grateful for the support of our audience and partners who have contributed to make KMEX the No. 1 station in the country. This important milestone speaks to the influence of our community.”Focusing on the history and accomplishments of the network in the last 50 years, the event profiled the enhancements of KMEX’s local news properties, as well as sister station, KFTR’s morning show, Lanzate. Details of the KMEX financial fair were also announced. Among the guests were Mier y Terán, Maria Elena Salinas, Bárbara Bermudo, Jomari Goyso, María Conchita Alonso, Carmen Jara, Esai Morales, Victoria Ortíz, Ivonne Armant, Jane Santos, Enrique Castillo and Sergio Arau.
