La Pirada produces music for Univision’s ¡Mira Quién Baila, Telemundo’s Yo Me Llamo and the MundoFox network

September 18, 2012

The full-service original music and sound design production studio La Pirada officially opened its New York office in June. Along with this new step, the company has taken on music production projects for the third season of Univision’s ¡Mira Quién Baila, for Telemundo’s Yo Me Llamo and the new open TV network, MundoFox. Juan Carlos Varela, director of La Pirada LatAm, spoke to PRODU about how La Pirada USA was created with the intention of reaching the general market in the U.S. “We’ve had an excellent reception as far as general market agencies and among the Hispanic agencies in New York. Today, the biggest brands don’t produce original music for their spots in only one place” the executive said. The company will be working nonstop within the coming months to create and produce all the music for two popular shows in the Hispanic market for 2012: ¡Mira Quién Baila and Yo Me Llamo. “In regards to ¡Mira Quién Baila, this will be the third consecutive year that we produce all the music that the celebrities dance to. For that, we’ve built a recording studio in Greenwich Studios in North Miami” he commented. The company was also given the task of creating the identifying music for Fox Worldwide, and now for the new network MundoFox which “acts as an alternative for the enormous Hispanic market, competing with Univision and Telemundo”.
