ViacomCBS Networks Americas’ Upfront 2022 took place in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, showcasing to more than 50 clients their new content and premieres for next year with an emphasis on their connection with audiences, immersive experiences and talent thanks to their multiplatform portfolio and its streaming services, such as Pluto TV, AVOD platform and Paramount+, the company’s premium SVOD platform.

Under the concept of “The power is in the alliance, creating the future of entertainment together”, ViacomCBS has placed its partners at the center of all its activities and strategies so that together they can create innovative solutions and solve their greatest business challenges via the multiplatform portfolio offered by the company.

“The combination of our creative strength, intellectual property and the successful franchises of our brands have allowed us to transform our business to become a digital company with innovative products, such as Pluto TV and Paramount+. We have changed the rules once again, redefining screens and formats, that is why we continue to be leaders in the world of entertainment,” said Laura Pérez, General Director for North Latin America and SVP of LatAm Content Distribution at ViacomCBS Networks Americas.

For 2022, ViacomCBS will continue with its successful Streaming first, entertainment everywhere strategy, which has allowed a double streaming offer in Latin America: a premium SVOD platform with monthly subscription with Paramount+, and another AVOD that offers 100% free content on Pluto TV and where they will seek to promote the distribution of services in order to be able to make new alliances to continue strengthening the digital offer with original and relevant content.

ViacomCBS will also offer new E-Gaming & E-Sports’ initiatives, Nick Watch, consumer products and events such as the Kids’ Choice Awards Mexico, MTV MIAW, Comedy Central Fest, MTV Unplugged and soon Vidcon 2022, the most important digital convention for world class for content creators.

Within the offer for 2022, local productions such as Cecilia, the new original series from Viacom International Studios (VIS) starring actress Mariana Treviño and produced in Mexico, will be released and broadcast on Paramount+. In addition to Los Enviados, an action thriller in co-production with director Juan José Campanella.

ViacomCBS has created the Content Innovation Hub, a creativity center that hosts all studios that generate productions, for any format and platform, be it digital, long or short, content for mobile platforms with its 5G Studios. Including Viacom International Studios (VIS) and Backdoor to make available for all clients the creation of all the content and the realization of local productions, and to offer them different opportunities for brand integration, spots, series, podcasts, programming or exclusive content. Likewise, the Insights & Influence Hub will serve as an intelligence and understanding center of the different audiences and the data they generate in order to have a better grasp of the groups to which the content is targeted.

During 2022, the preschool portfolio for Consumer Products will continue to be a priority with successful properties such as Paw Patrol; Blue’s Clues & You; Baby Shark; Garden Academy, the digital show created by Viacom Digital Studios International (VDSI) in the “edutainment” format; SpongeBob and Star Trek. And the portfolio for adults, which includes MTV and some of its series like Daria and Beavis & Butthead, South Park from Comedy Central, and Paramount films like The Godfather, Grease, Mean Girls, Top Gun and many more titles.

The Upfront featured a musical performance by the pop duo Jesse & Joy, made up of the Huerta Uecke brothers.

El actor y productor Frank Rodríguez, organizador de La Gran Fiesta del Cine Mexicano, festival de cine jalisciense y mexicano que se celebra por 12.ª vez en alianza con Cinemex entre el 8 y el 15 de noviembre en Guadalajara, explicó que buscan promover el cine hecho en Jalisco y en México, además de que este sea sostenible económicamente y animar a los jóvenes a tomar el camino de la producción audiovisual.
