Carlos Quintanilla, Research and Development VP at Lemon Studios, said on #VisitaPRODU that when researching contents and trends in the industry, it is increasingly complicated. “Before, a trend could last up to two years, now, with so much offer and demand, and the way young people consume, trends don´t even last six months”.
Quintanilla assured he was working hard on contents for a young target, mainly millennials, who are the ones setting the standards, and are the ones who consume the most, specially on new OTT platforms.
“We have a great deal of projects, both for open TV and for platforms. We are also making three horror films. Platforms are very jealous and I can´t announce any names nor the topics of the projects, but they are going to be great. All of them are very well made, with great care of the quality” he expressed.
For open TV they are already finishing the shooting of El Último Dragón, together with W Studios and Televisa, and are also close to launching Monarca for Netflix, a family drama.
The executive also mentioned the Lemon project called CENTRO, in which they give certifications to people with knowledge in the industry, and they train them as showrunners. “We inherited this term from North America. It is new in the region, but very much in vigor. We create excellent showrunners in a year, when they finish, they are prepared to work in the industry with vast knowledge about scripts, production and direction,” he ended.
