Érica Sánchez, VP of Production, and Carlos Quintanilla, Research and Development VP at Lemon Studios, commented on what is coming in 2020 for the production company: among others, the launch of Matando Cabos 2 and the production of the second season of Monarca for Netflix.
“We have surprises with Netflix and are doing production services,” said Sánchez, not able to give more details due to the confidentiality agreements with the platform. They both commented, not specifying for which platform, that there are four series confirmed for 2020 and three terror films. “There are productions in which we are thinking about the younger audience,” said Quintanilla.
For his part, Quintanilla commented that they are permanently working to nurture the production company with new content, generating new projects and working on the existing ones, for which they have an incubator of stories they have gradually perfected. The dynamics force them to work with several writers’ rooms and simultaneous productions, and they have two showrunners, as well as several production teams.
The first semester is already full regarding their production capability, although there is space for more and they are closing projects for the second semester. “We have a lot on the table, we are focused on making quality content, made with love and great effort, for a better TV in Latin America,” said Quintanilla.
